NOOOOOO! Sayid, Sun, & Jin, I can’t believe 3 of our main characters are DEAD. The life and death theme is powerful. I was surprised that Jack had another centric episode. I wished Sawyer would have trusted Jack this time. It looks like Jack is the only one putting things together. Awesome episode.
best episode of the season so far for action and fun (Ab Aeterno was still the best production wise so far)! wish it wouldnt have taken 39 episodes for it to get dangerous!
the Sun and Jin death scene was well done – even though it didnt pull my strings. sorry fans!
Sorry Frank, I forgot he died too. NOOOO
Wowsee!
Well we’ve lost some more main characters that will be missed.
But as a parent, why wouldn’t Sun insist that Jin live in order to raise their daughter?? I get the fact that they’ve only been re-united for less than a day, but come on.
And why did Widmore lock them all in the cages?? Did or does he have a plan?? And if so, what might it be.
Okay, I’m going to re-watch this and see if I understand this a bit better.
Rock on Donald!!
Peace
Len
p.s. Is Frank dead?? Is he so unimportant that they don’t even mention him, or did I miss it??

I really can’t believe what just happened. But putting my heartbreak and extreme emotional trauma aside- IT’S JACK! I can’t believe we just got that answer flat out like that! Of course, it was amongst a bunch of chaos so nobody’s gonna remember it…
Also: Interesting how MIB was so gung-ho about saving keeping Claire off the sub but he had no problem getting rid of Sayid- even though she blatently betrayed him. And since Jack’s “The Candidate,” do you think Claire is MIB’s chosen one? If Jacob and MIB are in fact brothers, then it’d be fitting that Jack and Claire would be the ones to take on those roles since they’re siblings. Maybein order to leave the island, MIB has to not only get rid of Jacob’s candidate, but he has to leave his own candidate behind to run the island how he wants it.
Also: Desmond IS alive! Not that we didn’t kinda all know that but now we know for sure!
Wow. I just really can’t believe that episode. I am still sick to my stomach.
OMG FRANK THAT’S RIGHT!!! Are we sure he’s dead?
How can MIB be Christian if he can’t cross water and we saw him talk to Michael and we saw him in LA appear to jack? Hey look Chuck E Cheese! *Bomb explodes*
Sayid,Sun, Jin, and possibly Frank dead! I’ll miss them all so much, but who’s going to explain to Sun & Jin’s daughter? Then I’m asking myself this question after each episode. Why is Kate still alive?! She servers no important purpose any longer ( or at all) as far as I’m concerned and she’s not even a candidate! Sayid’s death was inevitable, but Sun & Jin had so much going for them. So, in the end Lost’s birthday gift to me is a dead Jin, Sun, Sayid, and Frank. Oh they shouldn’t have -__- Great episode nonetheless the death scene was well done, and we’ve got some new insight into MiB’s actual plan. If only Sawyer had of listened!
P.S- Oh yeah! It’s also a shame that the Flash-sideways Anthony Cooper that actually loves Locke gets comatose instead of the other one. Love the Podcast keep up the fantastic work Donald!

Oh yeah that’s the other thing I meant to mention! MIB got pushed in the water! And lived! What does that mean? Maybe he can’t become Smokey anymore…
I cannot believe we lost both Sun and Jin. I was expecting one or the other. Gosh, that threw me for a loop.
@Tara Maybe MIB just doesn’t like the water. I think he is part cat. The water won’t hurt him but getting wet will really upset him
Wowsee!

I don’t think MIB has a problem with water in his corporeal form, just in his Smokey form. We have already seen both Flocke and Christian standing in the water, so water doesn’t hurt them when he has a body.
Quentin, I didn’t think that the sideways Anthony Cooper loved Locke. I figured he just got in the accident before he could finish his con. So Locke might still think they had a relationship. Cooper was evil to the core. I don’t see any reason to think he is redeemed in the sideways.
Donald, I loved your Alex Hahn imitation in your last podcast. You have such a gift for picking up on people’s mannerisms! This latest episode put me firmly in the Hahn camp. Apparently we can expect to see a bunch of people shooting each other and chasing each other around–Dukes of Hazzard on foot. I can’t see any way for them to fit in any resolution of any of the excellent story lines that were started in Season Five and then dropped. The Jack/Locke & Jacob/MIB storylines are mildly interesting, but Season 6 overall is just OK.
Ok, so Locke took the watch off the dead guy guarding the plane and rigged it up to explode the C4. That’s all fine and great. My question is when Sawyer tries to disarm it, the countdown goes into overdrive? WHAT KIND OF TIMEX DOES THAT?!! REALLY?! My Timex Indiglo watch I had in 3rd grade deftinitely didn’t have the superspeed countdown function. Ok I know, stupid thing to worry about on the 4th to last episode of lost. SERENITY NOW!
Also, even though I don’t really believe this and I know its been theorized before, this episode made me think even more that the sideways time line could actually the epilog to the show. Everyone seems to be getting the lives they deserve based on their on island actions. This episode furthered this with Anthony Cooper in his vegative state. Steal Locke’s kidney and con Sawyer’s parent, become a vegatable. Pretty fair right?
Is it just me or were the deaths of Jin, Sun, Sayid etc. not that sad? I mean the scenes were very moving but I’m convinced now that the alternate universe will somehow win out and there will be a happy ending. Something tells me pretty much everyone will die in the final episodes besides Jack who stays and saves everyone by allowing them to live on in the alt universe.
Side note: I’m really loving all the little parallels between both timelines, I think it’s really cool even though it doesn’t seem to add much to the plot. In the original timeline when Jack accidentally cut the dural sack of the patient he was operating on (when he had to count to 5), did they show who it was? Anyways, pretty crazy episode. Can’t wait to find out what the deal is with everything being a game and the smoke monster’s origins. Later Donald.
Okay, I don’t mean to sound crazy and go against what Darlton stated in the Doc Jenson article last night, but… I don’t think Jin is dead. Just hear me out. Remember that the candidates can’t kill themselves? Therefore, Jin could not have just stayed there with Sun and died. He is alive! AGAIN! Sun died and we saw her grip let go of his hand, and separate from Jin, but we didn’t see his arm go limp. It just left. He’s not freaking DEAD!
I know it’s a long shot, but why would the island let him kill himself just because he want’s to die with Sun in the sinking sub? It hasn’t ever let anyone else kill themselves just because they want to. Hmm?
Thanks for the podcast Donald. I’m sad the series is ending, but glad we’ll soon have the answers to this great puzzle that is lost.
schminky
I don’t think there’s anything specifically about water that harms/contains the smoke monster. I think the whole point was just the directors saying “NO, he can’t just turn into smoke and leave the island”. Everyone always brings up the Michael on the freighter thing so obv he can at least project an image into the water or something. Does anyone feel that all this has played out thousands of times so the smoke monster/Jacob pretty much know exactly what decisions people will make (Jack pushing Locke in the water, Sawyer not believing Jack etc.) based on watching them their whole lives? Is Desmond the X-factor that will assure victory once again for Jacob’s side?
A M A Z I N G episode. Won’t say more. I’m just going to enjoy the ride that the last few episodes is sure to be and trust that the writers know what they’re doing. The fact that they killed off three major characters was really fine with me – it was bound to happen, anyhow. We all knew it, and I think that their deaths were good and justified, which was all I was hoping for, really.
I’m still wondering what happened to Lapidus, though. Hopefully that wasn’t the end of him – he deserves more than a quick shot of water splashing in on him and then nothing. Those one-liners have to count for something, right?
Also – I just have to add that I was pretty much delighted when I saw Kate take a bullet. Hopefully she still dies from it, though she looked too okay at the beach for my taste. They woke my thirst for blood with this episode – now I just hope they’re able to clench it (and that hopefully with the death of Kate in the near future).
schminky- This would be the third time that Jin should have drowned but didn’t… but at this point I really don’t think they have time to fake a death and then bring the person back unless it’s someone we know to be super important like Jack or Desmond. I was very sad and angry to see them all go to but we knew it was coming and have to just accept it and see what they do next…
why was sayid Drowned? Why spend all that time at the temple and drown the guy in dirty water for what? must mean something, is he dead ,dead again so he could be alive????? lol
cheers don.
Donald, I think Flocke put that C4 on the Ajira plane and decided that he would remove it when Jack told him that he was NOT LEAVING!
Then his sneaky azz basically told our Losties how he planned on killing them…that is just pure EVIL!
He think that he got one of those Widmore peeps (probably Zoe, don’t trust or like her) to shoot KATE to ensure that Jack would get on that sub.
Wuz up with Hurley not finding that big First Aid kit? I guess it’s was best that he did not find it, because they would not have found the bomb! Oh snapped…if they didn’t look in the backpack the bomb would not have gone off! Which side is Hurley on…damn! This show will drive you to drinking, DAMN I LOVE THIS SHOW!
Take Care, Donald. It’s almost over what a ride it has been.
Enjoy your podcast, Brotha!
Peace!
