I’ve solved it. Jacob is a computer nerd. He works for Google. “Lighthouse” was the first prototype of “Google Earth” that Jacob was testing until Jack came along and destroyed it.

In the explination of how the Lighthouse works – I heard a lot of talk about the EM energy. My question is this – if the primary source of EM (The Swan – 30k times that of the Orchid) has been neutralized or released from when Desmond turned the failsafe key – how would the Lighthouse still be operational if it uses that energy? It’s not a critcism of the thoughts – just a question really.

she butchered the explanation of Schrodinger’s Cat. I’m no physicist and this isn’t a physics podcast

but still a little quick reading on wikipedia will clear up the concept.
