CRAZY EPISODE! There are so many things to say, but I will only share one, and that is my theory about what Juliet meant when she thought “It worked.” As I’ve said all along, she, like Desmond, was in the bottom of the Swan Hatch when a white light flashed and stuff exploded, etc. So, just like Desmond, her consciousness went to live in the alternate timeline for a while. Right before she died, her mind was off-island in 2004. That’s why she got confused for a second and then thought that it worked. Let me know what you think!
Hi Donald! I wasn’t too thrilled with the opening on the plane but once we saw Desmond on the plane too and the four-toed foot underwater I knew that the story would be mind-bending as we’ve come to expect.
When Flocke reappeared behind Ben and said “Sorry you had to see me like that” I thought of you immediately and gave you a big happy shout-out. You were spot on with your “Locke is the smoke monster” theory. Do we get another happy dance video?

A little worried about where it’s headed!
Donald, Great to have Season 6 off and running! My husband, who sells Rolexes for a living, noticed that Jin had a different Rolex model in the box the second time they showed it than he did the first time. I thought this was an interesting clue–time loop?

Well, now that I saw the Rolex screen shots at Dark UFO, they look like the same watch to me (just a different angle that makes them look a little different in a split second shot). I hate to say my husband was wrong, but…
My first thoughts are that these are parallel universes. That the timeline was reset, but since you can’t mess with time (the old butterfly in the rainforest thing) their universe has been changed. I think that what actions each person takes on the island will determine how their alternate”reset” will progress, and somehow in the end they will merge, or somehow entwine. This of course gives me hope that Juliet and Sawyer will have a cup of coffee someday. After all Charlie, Boone and Locke are dead and they alive in the “reset”.
The show has always been about redemption or conversion, but as Jacob says to Hurley and Ben: you can choose what to do. We all love a happy ending, but honestly some of the greatest stories ever written were Tragedies. I just have to think about my favorite character’s name: Juliet, and brace myself to face what’s coming….

I have many interesting thoughts about the show, many which are similar to what you guys are saying but one new idea i wanna throw out there is this…
Smokeys loop hole: I think jacob and smokey are higher entitys that can’t be killed. Except by thier own ‘baptised’ people. I think the spring in the temple was clear when jacob occupied the island, and anyone ‘baptised’ in it was a disiple of Jacob, like Ben when he was younger (”he will always be one of us”). Just because ben is a disiple of jacob, doesn’t mean he can’t betray Jacob (aka Judus to Jesus). Ben was a troubled person from a young age. And i think smokey has been planning this for a long time.
Smokey has been manipulating John Locke for a long time to have certain relationships with Ben (needed to kill Jacob) and Richard (needed also i belive, Possibly to take them to Jacob?). This is why he needed to use John Locke’s form to trick Richard and especially Ben into carring out his plan.
Now where it gets interesting, Now that Jacob is dead, the spring water in the temple is ‘dark’. Smokey’s powers now occupy the waters, so anyone baptised in the spring now will be smokeys disiple. So therefore Sayid now has the ability to kill smokey. (This ties in to what i’ve always thought on that the losties jacob selected where all selected for there skill sets, Sayids is a killer, selected to kill smokey. Jack a life saver, selected to keep everyone alive on the journey, Hugo see’s things, selected to see jacob after he dies to continue to communicate with them, Saywer a con man, selected to get them out of any sticky situations along the way… etc etc.)

Also, remember the ancient picture in smokeys lair of a god summoning smokey (similar to child john lockes drawing), well i think smokey was jacobs pet/security system and obeyed Jacob.
Smokey is getting sick of cleaning up Jacobs mess and wants out.
Smokey: “they come currupt, steal …” whatever he says
Jacob: “An old friend of mine got tired of my company”
And a question. We all know that through time travel John set up his own past with richard believing he was special and visiting him. But what about Matthew Abbadon’s visit. Charles Widmore knew. Also Charles says to john, “There is a war coming, and if your not there the wrong side is going to win” Is charles on smokeys side. I can’t wait to see where Charles fits into the story.
Also, I think Desmond has Perfected his ability and in the alternate timeline he appears using his uniquely special ability and dissapears before the plane lands, Desmond knows whats happening and will be the one to link the two timelines.

Donald I am really sorry that you seen to have such reservations after viewing La X about where this show is going. You have just gotta trust these guys.. they haven’t failed us yet.

Gr8 episode.. I like the alternate timeline story, just don’t know why they show an alternate timeline (where 815 never chrashes), it has nothing do to with the original storyline…
Also if the bomb really did go off and the island is underwater,, and 815 lands in lax,, who detonated the bomb..
