Nicely done – well argued (feel bad that you had to re-state your reasons so many times, but ’tis the nature right?), and passionately so.
Left you a voicemail, but your word on this matter that dominated this podcast is the last. I honestly hope you’re right!(despite what I believe)
Looking forward to the Fringe casts and to Season 6!
Peace!
Matt
I’m with you Donald that it seems very odd and potentially boring to go through the whole alternate timeline, but I think it is what they are going to do.
Think about it this way. The timeline we’ve been seeing all along is not what originally happened, but to prevent something bad from happening the 815 survivors have to crash. That’s why Frank wasn’t flying the plane for example.
I think everyone can agree that the show is about humanity making the choice to do the right thing over their own desires right? Well how else are we going to get our characters to make the right decision if we don’t give them something to sacrifice? So I believe the main characters will get to decide between their happiness or the greater good of others. I believe in the alternate (the timeline we haven’t seen) Jack will end up with Kate, Locke will be a strong hunter that can walk and Hurley is a happy restaurant owner. But to put an end to the conflict between Jacob and the man in black the plane has to crash!
I also think that Locke can walk because he is from a timeline where he did not become paralyzed. This means the paralyzed Locke was replaced by this alternate Locke at the crash with his memories replaced.
The alternate timeline could explain a lot. What if all the dead people like Charlie are from the alternate timeline. This would explain why they are alive wouldn’t it? The whispers are bleed through from the alternate. Even the hatch implosion could be explained. Why would the hatch implode? It looked like a big hole to me, a hole like it looked in the season 5 finale.
Sure pieces are missing, but it sure could answer many questions.
Awesome song to end the podcast!
